Who We Are
You are in good hands with us. We
are dedicated to making your journey a memorable one.
Our trips are much more than sightseeing
packages; Moki Treks opens a window into the lives of Native Americans
and early explorers. Because of our warm and personal relationships
with the Native American people, our journeys connect you with
tribal people who welcome and lead you through their culture, sharing
tribal stories and history.

Moki Treks also celebrates and retraces
the voyages of famed North American explorers in our special collection
of journeys in the American West and Canada, highlighting the native
people they met along the way.
Whether you embark in a canoe, put on
your walking shoes or treat yourself to Native American culture,
we make sure to offer you a soulful experience that is not shared
with typical visitors. |

Our Moki Treks guides are knowledgeable,
organized, motivating, safety conscious and—most importantly—a
lot of fun to be with. Their enthusiasm is evident as they share
their knowledge and favorite places with you. All our guides
are experts in back country travel, canoeing, outdoor cooking,
natural and cultural history, first aid and even in cowboy poetry!
We are proud to work with reputable members
of the Indian communities who know their land intimately and are
experts in history and current affairs. They give you firsthand
experiences of their culture and customs that have been passed
down for generations. They show you secret places, allow you a
glimpse into their daily life on the reservation and share the
Native American spirit. Our Native American guides make our Moki
Treks itineraries a very exclusive, one of a kind experience.
Our trips are in the wilderness and backcountry
of Utah, Arizona, Montana and Canada; far away from urban centers,
light pollution and city noise. Travel like the explorers did—no
phone and email—just your own marvels of your surroundings.
Moki Treks applies the leave no trace
principles in the wilderness and is sensitive to the native cultures
participating in our programming. We are operating under permits
of the BLM, National Forest, and National Park Service. Moki Treks
was a finalist of the 2004 World Legacy
Award in Tourism for cultural and heritage tourism offered
by National Geographic and Conservation International. |
